Katana Warranty Fraud & Misrepresentation Policy
At Katana, we stand behind the quality of our products and are committed to providing fair and efficient warranty support for genuine manufacturing defects. At the same time, we maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy towards fraudulent warranty and replacement claims.
This policy is intended to protect genuine customers while safeguarding the integrity of our warranty program.
1. Genuine Warranty Claims
A warranty claim will be processed only after successful verification by the Katana Quality Assurance Team.
Customers may be requested to provide, including but not limited to:
* Original purchase invoice or proof of purchase.
* Order number.
* Product serial number (where applicable).
* Clear, unedited photographs.
* Complete videos showing the product condition.
* Packaging photographs.
* Any additional information reasonably required for technical evaluation.
Failure to provide the requested information may result in the claim being declined.
2. Zero Tolerance for Fraudulent Claims
Katana considers any deliberate attempt to obtain a warranty replacement, refund, or compensation through false, misleading, or fabricated information as warranty fraud.
This includes, but is not limited to:
* Submitting photographs or videos of a product different from the product being claimed.
* Submitting products belonging to another brand or another customer.
* Altering, editing, or manipulating photographs or videos.
* Providing forged, altered, or fabricated invoices or purchase documents.
* Misrepresenting the cause of damage.
* Concealing material facts during the warranty evaluation.
* Returning a different product from the one originally claimed.
* Tampering with serial numbers, identification labels, or warranty markings.
* Attempting multiple claims for the same product under different identities.
* Knowingly providing false or misleading statements during the claim process.
Any intentional attempt to deceive Katana shall be treated as warranty fraud.
3. Investigation Process
Katana reserves the right to:
* Conduct a detailed technical inspection of the product.
* Compare submitted evidence with the returned product.
* Verify purchase records with dealers and distributors.
* Verify manufacturing records and serial numbers.
* Request additional documentation or evidence.
* Conduct forensic examination of photographs, videos, invoices, and digital submissions where necessary.
Processing timelines may be extended where further investigation is required.
4. Consequences of Fraudulent Claims
Where Katana reasonably determines that a claim contains intentional misrepresentation or fraudulent information, Katana may, without limitation:
* Reject the warranty or replacement request.
* Close the warranty case permanently.
* Refuse further correspondence regarding the same claim.
* Cancel any goodwill or discretionary support.
* Restrict or refuse future warranty claims from the customer.
* Maintain internal records of fraudulent activity for risk management purposes.
* Recover any products, refunds, or benefits obtained through fraudulent means.
* Recover losses, investigation expenses, and associated costs where permitted by law.
* Initiate appropriate civil and/or criminal legal proceedings where intentional fraud is established.
5. Legal Rights Reserved
Submission of false information for the purpose of obtaining goods, services, refunds, replacements, or financial benefit may constitute fraud under applicable laws of India.
Katana expressly reserves all legal rights and remedies available under applicable civil and criminal laws.
Nothing in this policy limits Katana's right to pursue legal action against any individual or entity engaging in fraudulent conduct.
6. Customer Declaration
By submitting a warranty claim, the customer confirms that:
* All information provided is true and accurate.
* All photographs, videos, and documents relate to the actual product being claimed.
* No information has been intentionally concealed or falsified.
* The customer understands that providing false information may result in rejection of the claim and legal action where applicable.
7. Policy Updates
Katana reserves the right to modify this policy at any time without prior notice. The latest version published on the official Katana website shall prevail.
